WCAD 2018 Property Tax Protests
Williamson County Appraisal District received property tax appeals for a total of 58,040 real property and BPP accounts in 2018 versus 55,490 in 2017. The volume of property tax protests in Williamson County has been increasing during the last 3 years. The 2016 property tax protest count was for 18,410 commercial/industrial / other properties and 39,630 for houses (31.71% commercial vs 68.28% houses). The volume of Williamson County protests for houses has risen 23.8% in the last two years while the volume of commercial has risen 6.75%. The total value of Williamson County property protested in 2018 was $23.88 billion, including $7.64 billion for houses and $16.24 billion for commercial/other. The total property value in Williamson County rose 55.31% in the last two years. The value of houses increased 31.72% and the value of commercials rose 45.91% during the last two years.
