Property owners within the Hidalgo County Appraisal District (CAD) successfully trimmed a staggering $576 million from their property tax bills by appealing their valuations through Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearings. The total number of property tax protests for the county was over 59 thousand: 33,776 for residential, 6,980 for commercial, 2,100 for business personal property (BPP), 812 for utilities and more. The total value of protests was $25 billion.
