Gillespie County Property Tax Protest 2024
According to the Gillespie Central
Appraisal District (CAD) reports, 2,588 property tax protests were filed in 2024. Out of the total number of protests, 911 protests filed were for single family residential, and 677 were for commercial property in Gillespie County. Other protests filed through the Gillespie CAD include
business personal property (BPP), utilities, and industrial property. The total value of protests amounted to $2 billion. Protests that were filed through the
Appraisal Review Board (ARB) resulted in a reduction of $17 million for all types of properties.
