According to the Scurry County Appraisal District (CAD) reports, 2,659 property tax protests were filed in 2024. Out of the total number of protests, 24 protests filed were for single family residential, and 70 were for commercial property in Scurry County. Other protests filed through the Scurry CAD include business personal property (BPP), utilities, and industrial property. The total value of protests amounted to $4 billion.
