Burnet County Appraisal District 2017 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary

In 2023, the Burnet Central Appraisal District (CAD) assessed that the market value for houses, including condos and townhouses, was $12 billion. About 2,015 property tax protest hearings were held with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), and 1,176 houses received a reduction of $83 million collectively. 37 lawsuits were filed to further fight the high values, and a reduction of $1.1 million was achieved.
