For Matagorda County, there were a total of 1,418 protests for residential property, and the value of those protests was $391 million. 727 houses were protested through hearings from the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), and as a result, 191 houses received reductions. About $5 million was the total reduction for houses in 2024 through the ARB.
