Bastrop Central Appraisal District 2023 Property Tax Protest
According to the Bastrop Central Appraisal District (CAD) reports, 10,620 property tax protests were filed in 2023. Out of the total number of protests, 4076 protests filed were for single family residential, and 536 were for commercial property in Bastrop County. Other protests filed through the Bastrop CAD include business personal property (BPP), utilities, and industrial property. The total value of protests amounted to $5 billion. Protests that were filed through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) resulted in a reduction of $67 million for all types of properties.
