According to the Bexar Appraisal District (BCAD) reports, 1,850,673 thousand property tax protests were filed. Out of the total number of protests, 1,250,140 protests filed were for single family residential and 15,553 were for commercial. Other protests filed for the BCAD include business personal property ,utilities, and industrial. The total value of protests amounted to $148 billion. Protests that were filed through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) resulted in a reduction of $7 billion for all types of properties.
