For 2023, about 115,533 property tax protests were filed according to the Collin Central Appraisal District (CAD). Out of the total number of protests, 83,017 were single family, 7,188 were commercial, 2,377 were business personal property, and 179 were industrial (real and personal). The total value protested for all types of property was $152.7 billion. Protests were filed through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB) and property owners collectively received a reduction of $7.7 billion through ARB hearings.
