Ellis County Appraisal District (CAD) is governed by a board of directors that consists of 5 members, and the members are selected by the county’s tax entities. The board of directors, whose members represent tax entities like schools, cities, and special districts, is responsible for selecting the chief appraiser and approving the budget.
