Galveston County Tax Appraisal – 2023

The Galveston Central Appraisal District (CAD) is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. These board members represent various taxing entities, including municipalities, counties, special districts, and local communities. Their primary responsibilities are to elect the chief appraiser and to approve the district’s annual budget.

Each year, despite consistently high property valuations, only a small percentage of property owners choose to protest their appraisals in hopes of a tax reduction. Independent representation is available through the CAD, but if you’re not appealing on your own, O'Connor can advocate on your behalf. Enrollment is completely free, and you’ll never miss another property tax deadline. You only pay if your property taxes are successfully reduced.
