Grayson Central Appraisal District 2023 Property Tax Protest
Property owners in Grayson County experienced high property taxes, thus 15,015 tax protests were filed in 2023 through the appraisal district. Of that overall count, 8,513 single family protests were filed, along with 1,616 commercial, 636 multifamily/apartment, and 553 utility appeals. The total value of protests filed was $9 billion. To further challenge the value assessments, 5,366 hearings were held with the Appraisal Review Board (ARB). As a result, a reduction of $380 million was achieved.
