Grimes County 2024 Property Tax Protest
According to reports from the Grimes Central Appraisal District (CAD), a large number of property owners filed protests in 2024. A total of 3,675 protests were filed, with residential properties accounting for 703 of them. Additionally, there were 180 protests for commercial properties and 148 for business personal property (BPP). Altogether, the total value of the protests reached $1 billion. At the end of the process, through Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearings, a reduction of $817,749 was achieved.
