In 2023, Jefferson County property owners underwent Appraisal Review Board (ARB) and informal hearings. There were 14,193 property tax protests filed in 2023 for various types of property. Of that total, 6,857 were for single family property, 551 were for apartments, 2,223 were for commercial, and 1,931 were for business personal property (BPP).
