Rockwall County Appraisal District 2017 Property Tax Protests
According to the Rockwall Central Appraisal District (CAD), 13,640 property tax protests were filed in 2023 and valued at $8 billion. From the total number, 701 protests were filed for commercial property, 9,338 protests for houses, and 208 protests for business personal property (BPP). Through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), 8,468 tax protest hearings were heard, and a reduction of $230 million was the resolution.
