Brazos Central Appraisal District 2023 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary

In Brazos County, the market value for houses in 2023 was $18 billion. Due to high property taxes, 12,650 tax protests were filed and they valued $5 billion. Through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), 5,020 protest hearings were held, as a result, 4,086 houses received a reduction. The reduction due to ARB hearings totaled $191 million. Lawsuits were held to further fight the high property valuations in Brazos County.
