Johnson County 2024 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary

In 2024, the Central Appraisal District of Johnson County (Johnson CAD) received 5,277 protests to fight the property taxes that amounted from the overall market value for houses that totaled $17 billion. The value of the total protests was $2 billion. Through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), 2,499 hearings were held and 1,170 houses received a reduction. The reduction achieved through the ARB was $39 million in 2024. Lawsuits were held to further fight for a reduction.
