Central Appraisal District of Taylor County 2023 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary

The Central Appraisal District of Taylor County (CAD) reported that the market value for houses in 2023 was $9 billion. As a result of high property valuations, property owners filed a total of 4,863 protests with the CAD, which were valued at $894 million. Through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), 627 hearings were held, resulting in 432 houses getting a reduction. Property owners as a whole received a tax reduction of $2 million through the ARB.
