Collin County property taxes are based on values determined by the Collin Central Appraisal District (CAD) after the protest process is complete. In 2024, there were 450,889 tax parcels across the county, with a total market value of $304 billion. Of that amount, residential properties accounted for $183 billion, commercial properties for $43 billion, and business personal property (BPP) for $14 billion. To manage and assess such a high volume of properties, the appraisal district relies on a wide range of resources and allocates substantial funding to perform accurate valuations.
