Glasscock County Appraisal District received property tax appeals for a total of 1,770 real property and BPP accounts in 2018 versus 1,810 in 2017. The portion of Glasscock County accounts protested increased from 3.33% to 2.46% in 2016 to 2018. The 2018 property tax protest count was for 1,770 commercial/industrial/other properties and 3 for houses (99% commercial vs 0.16% houses). The number of protests for houses fell 3 from the prior year while the volume of commercial appeals fell by 1,770 (number of appeals; not the %). The total value of Glasscock County property protested in 2018 was $1.62 billion, including $0.3 million for houses and $1.63 billion for commercial/other. Glasscock County Appraisal Review Board (ARB) conducted 0 ARB hearings while Glasscock County Appraisal District coordinated 1,610 hearings.
