- In Austin County, the total tax savings from both informal and formal hearings rose from $2 million in 2022 to $5 million in 2023. That year, property owners filed protests on 2,920 accounts.
- Of the property tax protests in 2023, 74% of informal hearings led to a reduction, compared to 27% through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB). These efforts resulted in savings of $510,000 from informal hearings and $450,000 from ARB decisions.
