Large increases in assessed values have caused Upshur County residents to protest at about 160% of the statewide average of 10% of all parcels. Judicial appeal tax reduction were $321 million in 2012 and $994 million in 2018. Single-family savings accounted for 4.6% of the judicial appeal refunds.
