According to the Runnels Central Appraisal District (CAD), 413 property tax protests were filed in 2024 and valued $29 million. From the total number, 47 protests were filed for commercial property, 95 protests for houses, and 13 protests for business personal property (BPP). Through the Appraisal Review Board (ARB), 23 tax protest hearings were heard, and a reduction of $3 million was the resolution.
